Mr. Watkins, being weary of his life as a city planner in Colorado, and having learned about photography and writing to some minor extent, undertook to travel abroad in the world and to record what he found in unusual places.
On Saturday we drove from lovely Lakeport on Route 175 over another more open coastal range. On Sunday evening I hiked in the hills above the bay area, and camped above Lake Chabot in a grove of tall Eucalyptus trees.
