Mr. Watkins, being weary of his life as a city planner in Colorado, and having learned about photography and writing to some minor extent, undertook to travel abroad in the world and to record what he found in unusual places.
On Wednesday morning, the day after the memorial service, I went for a hike in the Sunol Regional Wilderness in the East Bay hills. I climbed 2,000 feet to the top of Cerro Este.
