On the first attempt we had to cut it short because of dark
clouds and only climbed Democrat, so today I climbed Cameron, Lincoln and
Bross. I arrived at the trailhead the
evening before so I could get an early start and complete the loop before bad
weather arrived. The monsoon season has
arrived in Colorado with storms almost every evening and that is much
appreciated. When I got to the trailhead
it was overcast and it rained during the night.
The result was very clean, clear conditions in the morning with great
light and interesting clouds of diverse shapes.
With four points above 14,000 feet above the basin, the vistas were
dramatic and clear. I finished the loop before noon and dark clouds were
already collecting.
