The portion of the San Juan Mountain around Telluride is
certainly one of the most beautiful areas in Colorado. When I was there, in the last week of
September, the changing Aspens were brightly intense and dense. The views from the roads were spectacular.
When I arose on the day I was to return, there were no clouds and deep blue
skies. I took a side trip to Ouray and
drove to Yankee Boy Basin where I could see Mount Sneffels and Blue Lakes Pass
from the other side.
