Mr. Watkins, being weary of his life as a city planner in Colorado, and having learned about photography and writing to some minor extent, undertook to travel abroad in the world and to record what he found in unusual places.
When we arrived in Cusco, the inhabitants of the city and the surrounding areas were in the midst of the winter solstice celebrations. Music, parades, dancing, and street vendors filled the Plaza de Armas. The central area was extremely crowded.
