Mr. Watkins, being weary of his life as a city planner in Colorado, and having learned about photography and writing to some minor extent, undertook to travel abroad in the world and to record what he found in unusual places.
We toured the sacred valley of the Urabamba River. First, we stopped at a small facility with llamas, alpacas, and even several vicunas. There locals demonstrated yarn making and dyeing and weaving using the wool from the animals.
